Mauro Rosales has stated that his team are looking to balance attacking football

Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder Mauro Rosales has stated that his team are looking to balance attacking football with the ability to pick up results as well. Vancouver have been one of the best teams to watch in the MLS under the regime of Carl Robinson.

However, this beautiful football has not exactly brought results to the team, as they have not been unable to convert a chances more often than not. The poor efficiency in terms of finishing has left the team still searching for a position as the table leaders. Ahead of the game against Sporting Kansas City,Rosales says that the team will now look to be more efficient.

There has to be a huge turnaround in terms of home form in order for Vancouver to sustain their position in the final series. The team has managed only two wins over the last four matches. It has been a story of the campaign. However, Robinson has seen his team perform well in away matches, although they only recently suffered a 2-1 defeat against Colorado Rapids. Repeating the away form in front of their own supporters will be the key for Vancouver now. There are suggestions that Robinson may adopt a different tactics for the game against Sporting Kansas City. Despite conceding an early goal after just 14 minutes, Toronto managed to come back into the match in amazing fashion and they were leading after 54 minutes on the clock. Just when it seemed that they would be heading for only the second league win of the season, Chicago Fire had other ideas and they were in the lead after just 14 minutes. Creavalle was sent off in the 67th minute and it effectively ended the match as a contest. Toronto will have to recover quickly as they have four away matches on the bounce. Such poor form on the road is unlikely to help them pick any points. Continue reading “Greg Vanney was extremely unhappy with his team’s defending”
