Recent Lambuth (Tenn.) graduate Christopher Harrington put pen to paper on a professional soccer contract today on the campus of Lambuth University.
Harrington has signed with London City FC of the CSL (Canadian Soccer League) and will travel to Ontario to join the team in mid April.
London City, founded in 1973, competes in the CSL First Division and finished the 2011 season in 11th place with a 4-12-8 record. London city will open their season on the road May 15th against the York Region Shooters, the defending 2010 CSL champions.
After missing the USL combine this spring due to injury, Christopher continued to work and train in the Jackson area while weighing up offers from multiple teams. Harrington says, “I realize how blessed I am to have this opportunity and owe it all to the Lord. I want to especially thank Tony Poarch of IFCMG in his tireless representation of me, Paul Conway for allowing me the opportunity to play collegiate soccer, family and friends who always stood by me, and the whole Lambuth and Jackson community for their support. I can’t wait to head to training camp and get started and repay the people who have shown faith in me. It’s a great chance for me to continue to do what I love and hopefully establish myself at the next level”.
